All these Republicans who hate the government...
Why do they run to be part of the government then?

It's like hating McDonald's and then going and applying for a job as a cook there.

1. To plunder and pillage. And then claim it doesn't work when they broke it.

3. They hate the parts of government that benefit other people and not them.
And they're too stupid to know that most of government benefits them.

5. My wife has been saying that for years. Why would someone
vote for anybody who is constantly saying government is a failure. Especially when their goal is to make sure that government fails.

7. This is what I ask my GOP friends ....
Why would you hire a person for a job when that person tells you directly that they think the job can never be done well?

13. We have an idiot congressman in our area of Ohio, Jim Jordan. Every speech, he decries the govt.
Edited on Thu May-13-10 06:29 PM by bulloney
Yet, he's been on the government payroll at one level or another his entire professional career. I'm not sure what he'd do if he was ever forced to find a job in the private sector. Maybe become a big-time wrestler?

Frankly, I think he took too many pile drives during his college wrestling career. :sarcasm:

It's only wasteful social spending when someone else benefits from it, I guess.

14. They run to government for power...and to destroy government from within.
Edited on Thu May-13-10 08:47 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
That way, they can turn around and point the finger right back at government, calling it ineffective.

When Republicans enter government, they ruin things. That leads to American disdain for government. So, when the Dems regain control after Republicans destroy everything, often they have to do unpopular things, like raise taxes or cut popular programs because Republicans run up deficits with their wars and pillage.

It's a vicious cycle that Americans have a hard time learning.

Republicans hate government.
Republicans get elected to government.
Republicans destroy government.
Republicans lose power.
Democrats gain power.
Democrats pass laws, do things that try to improve government.
The people revolt. Democrats are blamed for mess caused by Republicans.
Democrats clean up Republican mess.
The people oust Democrats as a result even though they did not cause the mess.

...and the vicious cycle repeats itself with Republicans regaining power and destroying government again.
