Poizner Adds $2.5 Million To California Campaign Kitty
You gotta just shake your head when a superrich candidate can throw $2.5 million into a campaign, after already kicking in $15 million, and still not come anywhere close to the pile of dollars laid down by a super-megarich opponent.

But that's the case in California, where the Los Angeles Times reports that gubernatorial hopeful Steve Poizner has now thrown $17.7 million into his Republican primary race against Meg Whitman.

The latest polling shows Poizner gaining on Whitman, who had been the early leader.

Whitman, the newspaper reports, has self-contributed to the tune of $59 million.

1. Oh, sure.
Elections are fair, and ANYONE can run! :sarcasm:

Seriously, how healthy can a democracy be if you need to be a millionaire just to RUN?
