1. So true... think outside the box baby... outside the box....
Now if he'd tell Rahm and Geithner to hit the road, bring the troops home, start a massive jobs program and end the War On Drugs....

Man... we'd be firing on all 8 cylinders.... lol

2. When Obama decides to kick ass, he really does.
This is one of those times, and I wish he'd do it more often.

12. yes, exactly
When I saw he called in a Mars researcher, I'm not kidding, my first thought was, "THAT is brilliant"!!

The ocean floor is as alien as Mars. That was very clever thinking, truly calling in the heavy artillery--in the best possible way.

11. At least one of these scientists gives me pause

Katz, 59 wrote articles that he has labeled as “thought- provoking” on his personal website, including, “Don’t Become a Scientist,” “In Defense of Homophobia” (http://wuphys.wustl.edu/~katz/defense.html) and “Why Terrorism is Important.”

“The best physicists have been very broad people,” he said.

doesn't sound so broadminded to me
