POLL: Democrats Retake Lead in Congressional Ballot, 45/40.
Democrats Retake Lead in Congressional Ballot

A new Associated Press-GfK poll shows Democrats now leading the generic congressional ballot, 45% to 40%, a reversal from last month when Republicans led by three points.

"The new readout came as the economy continued showing signs of improvement and the tumultuous battle over the health care law that President Obama finally signed in March faded into the background."

Congressional Democrats approval is at just 37%, however, Republicans are rated even lower at 31%. Just 36% want their own member of Congress re-election this fall

3. Independents are coming back...
They are seeing positive results from the Dems and mindless obstruction from the GOPers.

16. That is just not TRUE. Let's talk facts. Dem affiliation is still DROPPING
Look at the number at the very right. It is still trending lower than even under Bush. We have work to do.

18. I am not talking about Dem affiliation.. I am talking about Independents who support the Dems..
and Prez Obama. Those numbers are going up. Is does not matter if they call themselves Democrats or not as long as the vote Democrat.

5. Cue the trumpets. Let's see Mitch McConnell try to defend the Republicans'
performance. Not a job I'd want, that's for sure.

7. Excellent! Hopefully the message will start sinking
into most that it'll take a long time to get the country out of the 8year horror story and not within a year that was expected from Magic Obama. Gobama!

8. And no, Morning Joe, it's not an outlier...
... as the GOP has already peaked in every poll across the board and begun to come back down again.

24. Betcha he won't mention it or he'll say "It's an outlier, of course."
I will bet money on that prediction. Here's how the narrative he has goes: "All the polls have pointed toward a massive Democratic loss in the House and Senate. This poll is an OBVIOUS outlier. No OTHER polls support this one..."

Wait for it Monday morning...chirp, chirp...

10. Indeed. It's not just one poll
The Dems have taken the lead for the Pollster aggregate polling lead for the first time since last year: http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/10-us-house-genballot.php

With the economy continuing to improve, the lead could grow over the next few months.

11. The numbers will likely inprove as people begin to see the
benefits they personally get from the healthcare bill. People will employer paid insurance likely have not been sure what if anything it impacts and the impacts are good. A very large percent of people are in this category.

12. I'm not one for either polls or prophecy...
but It seems, that according to this, I am indeed a prophet...(caveat: time will tell, the mid-term is political light years away).

I have said for what feels like forever, that since the R's have nothing to offer but cheap negative criticism, they will lose dramatically in the mid-term. Perhaps the old Crystal Ball is working...:D

These polls, the 'enthusiasm gap' and the economic situation (barring an unforeseen event) will tell us all we need to know about the Dems fortunes this fall.

25. That's a big deal
Even with a five point edge we lose seats but a lot less seats.

(Dems are more concentrated in districts and vote less so we always need an advantage in the generic ballot just to stay in the same place)

So good news. Better than bad news.
