Stating the obvious I know...... But corporations control this country!
This Oil Leak, Supreme Court decision on election funding, war profiteering and lobbies have made me feel like a conspiracy nut at times.

And I don't trust the EPA anymore. Or the government to regulate anything successfully!

I think maybe only 25% of the congress gives a crap and are not owned by the corporations and lobby's!

This government is so far away from "of the people, by the people" that it might be beyond fixing.

congratulations for realizing this. Those of us hippies, liberals, elitists, etc., etc., etc., who were from the coasts, were pretty much there years ago.

3. huh? You never heard of Chicago, the City of Big Shoulders, and
Demonsrations and candle marches and ...

Or Madison Wisconsin? Ann Arbor Michigan?

Or even Kent State?

It's not about geography, it's about comprehension of social issues. Which doesn't have a state of city border.

4. Yes, and not only have I heard about those places, but I have visited places
like St. Louis and Kansas City in my past. The people who tried to change the landscape, like Kent State, didn't make much of a difference because the churches and the conservative white people ruled in the vast countryside and you know that. I have to say that racism became the ruler and all other liberal movements were crushed under that.

6. It is so "of the people and by the people" because corporations are people too.

7. The problem is we don't have a real citizens goverment
It takes millions of dollars and the backing of establishments to even get elected to most offices. Regular people can't afford to run for Congress, much less win.
