Does anyone know what the symbol G with a circle around it means? Here's a story of racism for ya..
Edited on Tue May-18-10 10:38 AM by jenmito
My brother-in-law (who is black) was sitting in his car (a truck that he uses for work as a Fabricator) and a white guy came up to him out of HIS truck (a pick-up truck) and said something like, "Do you see this?" (shows him a tattoo on his arm of a capital G with a circle around it) and my BIL says, "Ohhh Kaaay..." Then the guy goes on to say, "You should be working on the back of a garbage truck! All you ni****s, you want change? You're gonna see change..."

My BIL didn't hear anything after that because he was in such shock. He wanted to get out of the car and fight the guy but the guy quickly walked away and went into a store. He thought better of going after him and left, going back to work. He had no bumper stickers on his car or anything. Does anyone have any idea what that symbol means? TIA!

A BETTER-WORLD ORDER

Circle G is about inclusion, those things that we all share, and about identity, those things that make us unique. The Circle G creates a new order, providing a better way to divide us. Traditionally, humans have grouped together for racial, nationalistic or religious commonalities. Yet history has taught us that race, nationalism and religion also cause most of the world's problems. The Circle G offers a Better-World Order, twenty-six new categories with which to define us.

I'm not sure what to make of it.

8. Thanks, but now I'm confused even more. That sounds like a group that wants people of
all races to come TOGETHER. The guy sure wasn't talking like that.

10. I wonder if the racist was just confused. That would be funny if it wasn't so disgusting.

11. Could you imagine if the guy was trying to tell my BIL that all races need to work together
and NOT be racists? I'm sure he wasn't saying that, but it WOULD be funny if he unknowingly has a "unity" tattoo which he's proudly displaying as a racist tattoo! I'm gonna have to call my sister back and tell her about it, thanks to your link. :hi: But I'm sure it will confuse her and my BIL even further.

12. He should have been saying "We should ALL get on the back of that garbage truck!"
It's a strange story indeed.

7. I've seen something similar

Some Masonic symbols feature a G inscribed in a circle. The "G" stands for Geometry. (My grandfather was a Mason, and I've seen this on some of his lodge's memorabilia and such.)

I doubt this has any connection to your story, but whenever I see a "G" by itself, I always think of all that old Mason stuff.

One edit: Yeah, after seeing the other stuff above, I'm pretty sure this guy's tattoo wasn't a Masonic thing...
