My point was that the teabaggers seem to be fired up..they went out and voted for the teabag candidate, and HE (PAUL) WON.

26. Hahaha!
You sound like the MSM!

They also like to say that Teabaggers are fired up,
and they also don't give Dems any credit to their account
with any positive narratives, even if there are some staring them in the face!

Look at the turnout now....
regardless of the particulars....
and then continue to say that Teabaggers
who are nothing more than ultra Right Wing
are the ones fired up.....
K?

Just like Repugs emphasize good news for them,
even if they have to twist it a bit.
So sue me.

Big lead story by the GOP's Liberal Press? Rand Wins!

Guess that's why I don't give Repugs any slack.....EVER!
They have the media on their side already,
emphasizing whatever they want emphasized!

8:44 PM . Just an interesting point, the 60% or so by which Democratic turnout is exceeding Republican turnout in Kentucky is almost exactly the margin by which Democratic registration exceeds Republican registration(1.6 million to a bit over 1 million).

I consider equal turnout good news.

46. I'm thinking likely voter models are going to vastly underrepresent Dems this year.
For precisely this reason. I think pollsters are underestimating the sheer number of Democrats that we've picked over the past 4 years and haven't done enough to shift their weighting models. This could be a very good thing for us.

15. Why do you think Democrats struggle there?
Conway will have a better shot because he's a moderate Democrat. However, it's a very conservative state. It's why Obama got killed there in the primaries & general election.

He'll have a good shot, but many Democrats there are Democrats in name only. And since it's a closed primary, it means that you can only vote the party you're registered to and many won't leave the Democratic Party just to vote in a primary.

42. ky is more competitive than you give it credit for being
Bunning barely won each of his Senate races. Even McConnell has had relatively competitive races other than in 2002. Over the past several decades the state has had only one repub governor (Fletcher). While it is true that most of the Democrats elected statewide in Ky are not from the progressive wing of the party, the fact that they have a "D" attached to their name has not prevented them from getting elected.

43. I never said it wasn't...
I do believe he'll stand a good chance of winning. However, we can't take these results as an indication he'll walk to victory.

The race is going to be extremely tight.

Though I have some concerns that Conway got swamped in most of the state. He'll need to win more than Louisville and Lexington to beat Paul.

whoever the nominee turns out to be and work hard. In spite of an edge in registrations, Dems in Kentucky often struggle in state wide races. And I sense a lot of volatility out there right now and who knows where it might lead. I wouldn't necessarily write off Paul just because he is the tea party candidate.

38. I guess Paul and Grayson just weren't that interesting after all
Paul seemed to be a lock for the past month or less. I guess Grayson just couldn't keep up in the polls or in the media market, so on the GOP side there wasn't as much needed interest.

On the Dem side, well you see how close those numbers are. Quite closer and thusly more invective to vote.

So the Tea party creeps got their guy past 1 primary. But they're jumping about like he's running for the presidency in 2012. Uh, this is a PRIMARY. He's not the senator-elect. I'd like to see the adjusted polls after he proclaims a return to slavery or whatever douchebag crap him and his pa wanna saw.
