6. they must have gotten their talking points before the results of the election......
so the meme was already set.

It just makes them look uninsightful and questions their political analysis skills.

Reminds me of the debates and the insta polls!

on DU..you'd think Murtha's seat was lost, Low Dem turnout, and Pres Obama didn't have a Dem vote until Jan and another Dem on the way if Sestak beats the teabagger toomey.

7. Andrea Mitchell: "The WH has to really be concerned about the Specter loss."
"The voters said even the PRESIDENT can't tell them how to vote." Yet they also complained about Obama not doing ENOUGH for Specter. :eyes:

9. Yes, Andrea...it is a democracy! Endorsements are not able to conrol voters like robots.
Hello? Anyone home in that head? She lives with Greenspan, the stupidity rubs off.

11. The White House is really concerned about
the BP Oil spill..Specter lost to a Dem and the White House always backs the incumbant.

Will they change their talking points if blanche pulls it off? I hope she doesn't.

8. Such denial
On Twitter, I read a couple of right-wing tweets that said the win was no big deal because Democrats just held the seat. So deluded.

12. Won by a Democrat who highlighted opposition to abortion, gun control and Obama's health care reform
If that is what it is going to take win elections, it is going to be rough election season.

13. We live in PA-12. You can't believe what the atmosphere has been like here.
The RCCC spent TONS of money trying to get this seat. There were Tim Burns signs everywhere, Tim Burns robo-calls unending--I mean like 5 and 6 every evening. My son received DAILY mailings from the Burns campaign. The commercials on Pittsburgh TV were non-stop. The Republicans wanted this seat SO, so very badly.

Mark Critz ran a devastating ad against Tim Burns that showed that Burns supported a 23% National Sales Tax. You know the ad was effective, because Fox News found the time to complain about it! :)

In the end, Critz prevailed. I don't see it as a referendum on the White House...for those of us who live here it was about everything that Jack Murtha did for this district and hoping for a continuation of that legacy.

Congratulations Mark Critz and congratulations Joe Sestak. :toast:

14. Andrea is a capable soul who just can't seem to stay out of the
backseat of Republican cars. FC, you're right -- it really is a huge win, especially given how loud and long the Pukes would have been crowing about it had their guy won.

15. Why should WH be "concerned"? Dems won handily and helped themselves for the fall.
Edited on Tue May-18-10 11:39 PM by yellowcanine
PA 12 win by Dem means likely hold in the fall; Kentucky senate race is now in play - would be a Dem pickup; Specter loss means likely hold of Dem Senate seat in fall - even Ark looks more like a Dem hold now because runoff will likely increase Dem turnout in fall regardless of how it comes out.

Oh, and the resignation of another Rep. hypocrite in Indiana means that seat is now up for grabs as well.
