That is a hella lot more Dems going out to vote than the GOP. DEMS GOT OUT THE VOTE by more than TWICE the number of the GOP.

Pretty sweet news, if you ask me. The same thing happened in Kentucky.

Conway won a hard-fought primary with 44 percent of the vote to Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo's 43 percent. Mongiardo barely lost six years ago to retiring Republican Sen. Jim Bunning. Conway pointed out to supporters about his chances in the fall that he drew nearly 221,000 votes to Paul's 192,000 across the state.

I'm trying to relocate a link I saw earlier that had the breakdown of all the people running in Kentucky, but if you tallied everything up-- more Dems voted -- we have a VERY VERY good chance at winning that seat in November.

For all the rabble rousing of the *Tea Party* and the anti establishment meme, More Dems voted than others, and that is very good news for our party.

2. good news, but a dose of reality

In Kentucky, there are 1.6 million registered Democrats and only 1.04 million registered repubs and with a closed primary system, it is almost always the case that, in absolute terms, the number of Democrats participating in a primary exceeds the number of repubs participating in a primary. On a more positive note, in terms of percentage turnout, the Demcorats and repubs both had turnout rates of around 33 percent in KY -- something that I regard as a positive since it suggests that Democratic "voter fatigue" was not the problem many have been predicting it would be (and/or enthusiasm among repubs/tea party was not any higher).

Not sure about the numbers in Arkansas -- my understanding is that most Arkansas voters don't register by party.
