Libertarians remind me of the Biblical Pharasees.

Jesus was critical of the Pharasees in the Bible for in his words, "You have the letter of the law but not the spirit of it." They were critical of Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. They wanted to stone him for this.

This is what Libertarian's like Rand Paul remind me of. They are big on what they see as the letter of the Constitution but not the spirit of it. If Libertarian's had their way, the nation would be returned to the Gilded Age. They oppose almost all workers rights laws, the minimum wage, federal enviormental laws, the FDA, and on and on and on. I am convinced that if Rand Paul and his pals were around in the 1850's they would be strong advocates of slavery. After all, that is what the Constitution says!
