Fox News revises (lies) about Dick Cheney endorsing TeaNut Rand Paul
Edited on Wed May-19-10 12:43 PM by zulchzulu
So much for accuracy from our friends at Fox News. In a story where Darth Cheney compares Meg Whitman to Ronald Reagan (which is laughable and perhaps fitting) in his endorsement of her, Fox News slipped in this little tidbit of a LIE:

Cheney, who took the Tea Party route in endorsing Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul in Tuesday's primary, went more mainstream in supporting Whitman, who was a co-chair to Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. Whitman is in a three-way race for the nomination against state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and Tea Party favorite Chuck DeVore. A state assemblyman.

Of course, nobody seems to mention that Cheney actually endorsed Rand Paul's opponent, Trey Grayson, who got his ass kicked like an old hare:

Vice President Dick Cheney endorsed Trey Grayson, the secretary of state of Kentucky, in the GOP Senate primary, saying that Mr. Grayson “is right on the issues that matter — both on fiscal responsibility and on national security.” Of Mr. Grayson’s main opponent, ophthalmologist Rand Paul, the former vice president expressed deep reservations about his views on national security, saying “we need Senators who truly understand this and who will work to strengthen our commitment to a strong national defense and to whom this is not just a political game.”

Based on Cheney's endorsement, Meg Whitman might ask him to just shut his cakehole.
