President Obama capitulated to Dick Cheney tonight. We have been outmaneuvered once again!
Cheney accused us of "dithering" because he wanted Democrats to own this failure, he will now no longer have to take responsibility for Afghanistan. McChrystal tag-teamed him. The president capitulated. I see Drudge is already calling this "Obama's war", and no doubt the sycophantic media will fall close behind. It's now our failure, not theirs.

Good job! Outmaneuvered by the right wing again. What a spectacular fucking failure.

1. He always said before the election he was going to take care of Afghanistan.
He is doing exactly that.

9. Democrats and Independents never supported that plank of Obama's platform.
Obama himself admitted tonight the country is polarized on this issue.

11. No,. I helped polled them and know the results of the polling.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Obama is more honest than you. He admitted that the country is polarized on the Afghan escalation. However, you do not share his candor.

12. Obama never had popular support for his Afghan crusade even among Democrats.
He admitted as much tonight.

Obama won the election to get us out of Iraq, not to escalate into Afghanistan.

8. WRONG. Obama addressed the critics' arguments one by one, including Cheney's.
He talked about how Afghanistan was neglected for the past 8 years, how he took his time making his decision despite the critics because he cares about the troops, how the Bush admin. failed to give the generals the troops needed, how Afghanistan is not like Vietnam, etc.

Obama knew going in that he'd have to take ownership of this war. And he did.

13. Barack Obama would not send troops in harms way to try to
maneuver politically, nor to capitulate to Darth Cheney.

He would only send troops in harms way if he thought it was the best thing to do. He may be wrong, but anyone who thinks his motives for sending troops into battle are generated by political or selfish reasons is no different from Hannity to me.
