FOX News Anchor Neil Cavuto Tells Michael Steele: 'Everybody Hates You' (VIDEO)
First Posted: 05-19-10 07:01 PM | Updated: 05-19-10 07:13 PM

"Everybody hates you." That's what Neil Cavuto of Fox News told RNC Chairman Michael Steele on Wednesday. Cavuto was quick to say his verbal barb was just a joke.

Talking about Tuesday's defeat of Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Trey Grayson at the hands of Tea Party-backed political novice Rand Paul, Cavuto asked Steele if "there's a little bad blood" between the GOP and the Tea Party movement.

"I'm telling you as the national chairman of the party, there's no bad blood between the Republican National Committee and the Tea Parties," Steele responded.

Cavuto wasn't buying it. At rallies he attended, Cavuto said the message he got from conservatives was clear: "Republicans aren't our guys, the establishment ain't our guys

The chairman then took a minute to try to distance himself from the larger GOP "establishment."

"Please do not mix the Republican party establishment -- I don't even know who that is by the way..." Steele said.

"You, you, you," Cavuto interrupted. "You, you, you, you, you."

1. You really have to have low self esteem to go on a show
You really have to have low self esteem to go on a show where they tell you everyone hates you (including the guy telling you that) and sit there and smile.

And sing praise
Go on out
And gas that dog ..."

Anything "Basement Tapes" always puts a smile on my face.

5. Every day Michael Steele remains RNC chief is another great day for Democrats.
Michael Steele can't lead his way out of a paper bag. And he's in charge of the Republican National Committee; the man is truly the gift which keeps on giving.

Notice his faux pas: he says he doesn't know who the GOP party establishment are! Good gravy, I would think the nominal head of the party would know who's in charge, wouldn't you? Steele has let it slip: the truth is that there's nobody in charge over there. The RNC chair is standing at the wheel of a rudderless ship; he can turn that wheel but it isn't connected to anything. He doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know where to turn. He has no leader.

The Republicans have no leader. They are led by a kind of group-think, a quasi-conservative gestalt: the ghost of Ronald Reagan. A ship of fools.

6. Steele isn't invited to *those* meetings.
They give him a few bucks to hit the strip bars with the Young Republican frat boy brats, then the GOP Rich White Guy Club conducts the real party business.

7. real intelligent discussion going on there. Typical for Faux news.
Who is Cavuto talking about? Steele is still chairman of the Corporate Lobbyist party. Hate him?? I think almost everybody outside the Corp Lobbyist party just thinks he's a consummate ass-hole. but he does make a good National Chairman of GOP. He has no fucking shame, is devoid of any conscience. ... he's perfect!
