Poll shows Artur Davis with 50% of black vote in race to Democratic nomination for Alabama governor
A new poll commissioned and paid for by the Artur Davis campaign shows the Birmingham congressman with a double-digit lead in the race for the Democratic Party nomination for governor.

The poll shows Davis leading Ron Sparks 46-33 percent. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

Both the Democratic and Republican primaries are June 1.

The poll shows Davis, who is black, splitting the state's white vote with Sparks, who is white. Sparks has 42 percent of that vote and Davis 41.

Among black voters, Davis is leading with 50 percent of the vote compared to 25 percent for Sparks. Another 25 percent is undecided.

2. He voted against the Affordable Care Act.
The only member of the Black Caucus to do so. No surprise many are skeptical of him.

3. Disgusting! I can't stand Artur Davis. Why is he even a Democrat. Black conservatives so much
better as Republicans.

5. A Democrat can win the governor's race in Alabama only if
he/she can motivate and unite Progressives(yes, there are some), conservative white Democrats and African-Americans. If any of the three defect or stay home in significant numbers, whichever loon the Republicans pick will win going away.

I don't like our side's chances this year--not for the governorship nor any of the congressional seats.

I'd be glad to be wrong...
