Would you feel the same tonight if Bush would have gave this speech?
No matter how you feel. Mad, Happy, Worried, Scared, would you feel the same if W would have gave this speech?

Would you believe him?

Would you be mad at the three more years?

Would you be happy that there was a withdraw plan at all?

Would the death of any of these extra 30,000 troops be on his head?

1. He would of talked to his low-brow base
Everyone here would of been pissed off because of the language and motifs involved.

4. No, * is a chickenhawk who got the war he wanted for his "legacy"
* could not give a flying (*&^ about the brave men and women he sends to battle.

Barack Obama, whether his decision is right or wrong, would not send troops in harms way for any other reason than thinking that that is the right thing to do. Period.

12. The buzz words were different
but the concepts and slogans were the same. One thing Obama did was as soon as he said he was sending 30,000 troops, he felt the need to immediately say they'd be coming home in 18 months. "I have determined that it is in our vital national interest to send an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan. After 18 months, our troops will begin to come home." A weak attempt to mollify the base.

I don't think GW would have felt the need to make that coming home statement. He would have based their coming home on what the generals would tell him. Obama seems to be saying they're going to start to come home regardless of what's going on there.

13. Obama gets the BOTD, Bush, never
We'll give him a chance - troops leaving by 2011. Bush lied us into a war. Obama is trying to clean up the mess he was left with. Iraq was issue #1 here under Bush. Why isn't it now? Obama.
