President Obama to send 1,200 troops to Arizona-Mexico border

President Barack Obama will deploy up to 1,200 National Guard troops to help secure the Southwest Border against Mexican drug cartels, White House officials said Tuesday.

Obama also is requesting that Congress approve $500 million for enhanced border protection and law enforcement activities as part of an emergency spending bill expected to come to the Senate floor this week.

I don't know - is Arizona actually experiencing a threat from the drug war in Mexico?
It's my understanding that the drug cartels are killing each other over access to the increasingly limited passgaes into the U.S.
Why would they want to actually be in the U.S.? Wouldn't that destroy their "business"?
Anytime we're sending in troops is usually overkill ('cuse the pun).

And many other areas, again it is the same thing as many other things I have read, they are working on issues that are not part of the problem of the black oil.

As I said years ago, send the enforcement troops to the Hamptons, and the protection troops to main street. Although that has to be a global concept.

9. Oh joy! I live about 18 miles from the border and we already have

the most law enforcement to population ratio of any where in the nation.
