Why liberals and democrats are polar opposite of conservative |
|
and republicans...
We elect and support human beings who we know are fallible and have flaws and can do wrong...
The other side refuses to admit that their leaders are human and believe they are infallible as soon as they are chosen to be their leaders.
Does anyone really think a dingbat like Palin could ever have been elevated that far in the the party that thinks?
Anyway, just look at how the liberal talk shows that I listen to on MSNBC take president Obama to task anytime they see him making what they believe is a mistake.
Me, as I have said in other posts, I am simply not capable of doing the mental gymnastics needed to elevate a flawed human into a Deity just because they, for what ever reason, become electable by our party...

even politicians.
Humility seems to be extinct among conservatives.
My old Granny used to say " Never trust anybody who is sure they are right about everything".
this little bit of wisdom from a lady born in 1887 has proven very handy in the current political climate.

Good idea to separate the terms Liberal and Democrats, and conservative and republican. They're definitely not the same thing.

Obama's handling of the oil crisis would ever happen on any conservative board if the situation was reversed?

7. I'm sure we have some true believers here... |

After all we are an open party and an open forum, but not anywhere near the extent that it exists for the republicans and conservatives.

6. Yet, despite all of this |
|
These are the people we will have to band together with to fight the real enemy - the powerful elite class. I don't know how we're going to do it and I suspect it is going to require an awful lot of swallowing bile on our parts (I'm sure they would say the same).
But there it is, the fight isn't between Democrats and Republicans or Liberals and Conservatives. It is between all of the human classes against the corporations and their moneyed few. They love that we fight like cats and dogs with each other because it keeps us weak. They foster the disunity at every turn because if we find a way to join together against the corporations and the moneyed few, we will win. They know that so they pit us against each other like pit bulls in an illegal dog fight.

14. I get it, but I was also raised by my Grandparents, |
|
and my grandfather was a bigot, a racist. The gall I will have to swallow to stand by some of these people will be huge, but the failings of the teabaggers are so much less devastating than what the multinational corporations are doing to us all. Every worker and out of worker in the world needs to stand shoulder to shoulder and stop these world destroyers.
We have to stop preaching to the choir and go out and convert people to the pov that it's the corporations and the richest robber barons who are destroying our world.

9. Here are a few other important political differences ..... |
|
They (Republicans, Cons) will close ranks to get as much as they can, even if it is not everything they want. We (Dems, libs) will fight amongst ourselves to the point of potentially losing any gains at all.
They send people on TV who will repeat the part line in very tight sound bites, shift all blame to our side, and claim that they are Gods. We send people on TV who will imediately agree with some of the points made by the GOP hack, only to then run out of time defending the left's positions.
They will take a complex issue and dumb it down to a bumper sticker because of their cynical view that most Americans can't deal with the complexity. We will take a complex issue, make it more complicated, and have no clear message at all.
And you mention MSNBC taking on Obama ... meanwhile, on Fox, while Bush was a GOD who could do no wrong, Obama is a secret communist, muslum, socialist, kenyan, terrorist, racist, maoist who gives great speeches just like Hitler did.
That's what we're up against on the right ... and they love to see us bicker with each other.

12. We fight because there's a mix of corporate and non-corporate democrats. |
|
Edited on Fri May-28-10 07:20 AM by ShortnFiery
We (classic FDR liberals) don't get along with the blue dogs/new democrats/DLC because, IMO, we put the welfare of the average American FIRST before the profit/interests of large corporations.
If we could have a democratic party that put THE PEOPLE above THE CORPORATIONS, I honestly believe we could stand as firm as the republicans.

13. What galls me more than anything about the republicans |
|
IS THIS. The crap they keep yelling about taking their freedoms away. This country lost more freedom under the Bush reign than any time in modern history.
Look at the secret service sent into a class room, and taking a child to task, (without a parent present) just because they wore a TShirt that said Bush was a terrorist. Then look at the pictures and the signs that the tea bags wave every day about Obama being a Nazi. And the hateful racist signs. What in the hell would have happened if anybody had done that during Bush's time. Remember the two people kicked out of one of Bush's speeches because they had a bumper sticker that the republicans didn't like. And then remember the hired disrupter's who yelled and screamed and wouldn't let any of the people who came to listen ask questions, or get their answers when they had the town hall meetings. what do you think would have happened to the paid disrupter, goodness they would still be in jail.
So the tea bags should just shut the hell up about loosing freedoms. And I also would like to know if someone could tell me about ALL THE TAXES that have gotten raised since Obama took office. That is another thing the tea bags spew. The are the most clueless, ignorant racist bunch of humanoids that ever existed in this country.
