Is Obama still going to close Gitmo?

I was talking with a wingnut friend of mine and he mentioned Gitmo is still open despite Obama's pledge to close it. I kinda had forgotten about it to tell the truth and was wondering what the latest is, and if it's finally near closing. It's been a dark spot on this country and I'm just hoping we're close to closing it finally. Plus, I want to be able to tell my friend Obama is about to close it.:)
