Rumor has it about Obama....
that he will be at the Hawks game on Monday night sitting in Daley's skybox.

Just a rumor, but it's pretty cool having a team in the Stanley Cup finals and the president in town at the same time they're playing at home.

Tonight's the first game. GO HAWKS!

(Philly sucks)

I'm surprised. And a little disappointed.

All the more reason to go.

6. He'll be hooked. Hockey is the best live sport ever.
I think so anyway. Since my Pens didn't make it x( I'll be rooting for the Hawks. 1961 is a looooong time and I'd like to see them get it. Hate the Flyers and their ugly uniforms. ;-)

7. I didn't get into it until this season
and I am definitely hooked.

It's the most exciting sport I've ever watched.

10. I had Caps season tickets for a couple of years and would go see occasional games
at Maple Leaf Gardens.

But gave up the Caps tickets a few years ago. And, again, it's wildly expensive for a regular season that doesn't matter all that much. The 'home court' advantage in the playoffs for basketball and hockey are almost inverse. There is no 'home court' advantage in ice hockey worth playing for.

It would be so cool for Chicago to win. Take that, Detroit!

When I get to meet him I will address him as "Mr. President" until he says call me "Barack!"

24. Works for me.
It would be great if they won their 4th game at home. Even better if they inspired the Cubbies...

It has been fun seeing some of the old faces again, like Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita. I am amazed at how little Stosh has changed. He just turned 70 and hardly has a gray hair on his head.

16. It will depend on the blowout fix
The theater of politics dictates that Obama is supposed to be consumed 24/7 by the blowout in the Gulf.

If the blowout is still gushing come Monday, it would be terrible optics for him to be seen at the Hawks game.

I say that as an insanely enthusiastic hockey fan who routinely cheers for the President, and who also happens to be cheering for the Hawks.

20. My dad's family lives in Chicago...
So I grew up a Chicago sports fan (well not a Bulls fan, since I am a Jazz fan by heart and they were rivals in the 90s).

SO GO HAWKS!

But my local peeps support all the Philly teams,
so if my husband and daughter see this,
it's: Go Flyers!!

23. NOT a smart move politically.
You can see the upcoming commercials with the gulf on 1/2 the screen and Obama at the game on the other 1/2.

Please, Obama, stay home and watch in on tv.

This is not a team to be trifled with...besides I openly laugh at anyone who thinks they are tough from Chicago...for God's sake we are Philadelphia.

European soccer fans have nothing on us.

I lived a few miles from Chicago, you have no real competition in cities. Almost married a girl from one of your exburbs. Nice town, great party atmosphere, that being said. Who do you compete with for attention locally?

Who Indy? St. Louis? Detroit?

Philly is in a neighborhood with D.C., Boston, New York and the entire awful state of New Jersey.

We are tougher trust me.

Will give you credit for your proximity to Gary..after that you all are soft.

When your Mayor drops a bomb on a block...call me.

Flyers.

I'm sure they have a friendly little wager between themselves.
