Liz Cheney rears her ugly head-attacks Bill Clinton, WH

Liz Cheney's deliberately obtuse attack on Bill Clinton and the White House

May 30, 2010 11:57 am ET by Simon Maloy

This morning on Fox News Sunday, Liz Cheney offered her thoughts on why the White House tapped former president Bill Clinton to try and persuade Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) to drop out of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary. After saying Clinton doesn't have "an impeccable record of integrity," Cheney argued: "You know, there's a lot here that just smells funny. If the White House in fact thought that what they were doing was above board, why did they go to Bill Clinton? Why did they need a cut out for whatever they were doing?"

There's a lot going on here that's just plain wrong, not least of which the suggestion that the Obama administration, in seeking to do something improper or unethical, sought out Bill Clinton as their point man as if he's some sort of for-hire ethics violator. Fortunately, there's a much simpler, and far less nefarious, explanation for why the White House asked Clinton to talk to Sestak -- they're friends.

1. Any American who does not like the way the president is leading this nation is free to leave
We are a nation at war, and if this broad doesn't like the way the President is running the country then she can go move to Russia.

21. I'm just curious if you felt that way when we criticized the way Bush was leading the country
I don't like what Lizzie is saying, but she does have a right to say it.

"Love it or leave it" used to be a right wing slogan.

25. Her right to speak her mind, such as it is, is much less the point than
her being wrong almost all of the time, which is more problematic.

She's in the media at all because she's her daddy's daughter.

4. If she wants an investigation lets start with what her father did
Unlike asking a person to drop out of a race, which Sestak had not at that point signed up for, Cheney asked Pawlenty to DROP OUT OF A RACE in favor of Norm Coleman....how about that one for a starter. If the MSM would only print or say the truth and have the guts to ask her that question it might they little witch up.

5. Well gee, could it be that Clinton and Sestak are friends?!?
oh my gosh no, it wouldn't make sense for the WH to go through the guy who was most likely to be able to persuade Sestak!

is the idiocy feigned or for real?

6. Impeccable record of integrity? What is Cheney? Mr. Morals?
Sometimes I disagree with the way Bubba did certain things during his Presidency but this is Liz Cheney we are talking about here. Their evil stench is probably still ingrained at the VP mansion.

7. How about a Special Investigator to see how LIZZY
got a job in the State Department.

Could her 5-deferment draft dodging coward daddy have had anything to do with it? It looks to me like a law was broken hiring her for that job.

8. I'm afraid it's just the beginning of laying the groundwork for the "I" word
The pukes have been trying to delegitimize Obama's Presidency since day one. They can't impeach him for his real crime, as they see it, winning the election. This kind of crap is only going to get worse as 2012 gets closer. RW noise machine is even stronger now then when Clinton was Prez.

19. And people listen to her... why?
She holds no high office, never has. She's not a noted or clever pundit. She's not from academia. She's not a popular celebrity.

WHY is she treated with any more respect than say, Jenna Bush?

I know, I know, it's Fox. They don't NEED respected people. Just loud, obnoxious people.

23. Liz is worse than The Dick.
She has inherited all his bad genes, along with those of her Evil Mother, Lynne. And there are plenty coming from Lynne's side too.

Without Lynne's limitless ambition, The Dick would likely never have attained his current level of awfulness. He may actually have remained a contented manual worker in Wyoming - and the world would have been a much better place.

on why the White House tapped then-vice president Dick Cheney and then-Bush adviser Karl Rove to persuade Rep. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) to drop out of the Minnesota Republican Senate primary. After saying that Cheney and Rove don't have "an impeccable record of humanity," Rocktivity argued: "You know, there's a lot here that just smells funny. If the Bush White House in fact thought that what they were doing was above board, why did they BOTH go to Pawlenty?"

There's a lot going on here that's just plain tacky (but not illegal or unethical unless Pawlenty was paid or coerced), not the least of which the fact that Cheney and Rove WERE the Bush administration. Fortunately, there's a much simpler, and far less nefarious, explanation for why Cheney and Rove talked to Pawlenty -- they're thugs.
