WWE fires Bret Hart over real life lawsuit from Owen Hart's widow?
On Monday Night Raw this week, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon "fired" WWE Raw General Manager Bret "The Hitman" Hart in what appeared to be the continuation of an ongoing storyline.

On Tuesday, however, some are beginning to wonder if the legendary Bret Hart may have actually been released for real. And for good. The reason? Own Hart's wife is taking aim at WWE once again.

Today it was announced that the late Owen Hart's widow plans to file suit against World Wrestling Entertainment yet again, a continuation of the legal battles that began as a result of the fatal 1999 stunt that the WWE and its executives - including Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon - were "responsible for."

As covered Tuesday morning by Rajah, Martha Hart says that both Vince and Linda McMahon continue to use Owen Hart's name, image, and likeness after his death despite her claim that the WWE executives agreed to do so.

More trouble for Linda McMahon....

TPM Reader LA gives us more details on that suit against WWE and senate candidate Linda McMahon brought by the widow of Owen Hart, the wrestler killed in the WWE accident in 1999 ...

The complaint is up and posted here. It appears actually to be much worse than your blurb of it. Not only are they using him without her permission (and rights apparently reverted, under his contract, at the time of his death, to his estate), but *they haven't paid the estate for the stuff they haven't gotten permission for*-- meaning that they're in breach of even their interpretation of the contract.

1. I thought I heard he was getting married and that was why he was going off TV
Remember, if you see it on TV, it's a work.

3. I can't believe I know this, but Owen Hart's niece and nephew also currently work for WWE so I can't
imagine this story being true. I mean, wouldn't they have been let go too?

5. It's complicated
The McMahon and Hart feud/business relationship is well into it's third generation - and with WWE's scriptwriters, it'll take 6 months to find out what is a "work", vs. any intrusion from the "real" world.
Plus, Vince fires people like Stienbrenner used to fire Billy Martin - and hire him back, to fire him again.

8. Hmm, I have this loyalty thing to Lamont because he ran against Lieberman
and had the guts to actually take him on. I am going with Lamont.
