Media Auctions off both of Bush's Wars to the only Bidder for no Money Down
Edited on Thu Dec-03-09 06:33 PM by FrenchieCat
so that Bush can be left to "repair" his legacy.

The Media will make sure of that.

How do I know?

Because neither the Iraq War nor the Afghanistan War were ever really called Bush's Wars by the corporate Media, and certainly not at the same rate as the Afghanistan War is being called "Obama's War".

instead, one was just the Iraq War or War in Iraq, and the other had names such as the War on Terror, The Forgotten War, Afuckistan, etc.....

The Iraq War which Pres. Obama will end, will be re-written as the most "successful" of the two (it started later and didn't last as long), one day in the history books, and the credit will be given to the "Surge" which was done prior to Obama getting into office. Obama will not get credit for being the one to call the troops home while ending the war (which he did), nor for the transition currently there underway. He will, however, become "responsible" if all that he is currently doing doesn't go according to plan.

As for Afghanistan, although most can only speculate, because that chapter is not yet complete, it will only be called Obama's War years from now if it unsuccesful in it's goals, which are probably goals that can only be fully met if Obama is the Messiah, or at the very least, a Miracle Worker who walks on water.

What I find fascinating in all of this is watching the Media decide who's wars belong to whom, and what they are to be called.

And it is even more interesting how many fall for it, and parrot exactly what the Media determines.... automatically, and without even a 2nd thought.

AFTER 8 YEARS, Google Results for Bush's war: about 2,560,000

AFTER 10 MONTHS, Google Results for Obama's war: about 28,700,000

Mind numbing how some buy into the Corporate Propaganda, hey?
Especially those who claim to be really, really "smart".

1. Question: Is the war in Afghanistan even a war at all?

2. You got to ask the pundits and the media, and the unre'cers here at this site.....

cause they are the ones to decide.

Certainly you and I get no say.

A million people could have marched against Iraq, which was started as
a decision by George Bush, and it ain't his war.

Obama inherits a mess, and it is his....and that was before the speech....
as the Obama's war articles started back in February of this year.

3. ...
It was Bush's war, and Bush bares responsibility. But now, it is Obama's war. I know it pains you to read this, Frenchiecat, considering you blindly support Obama -- which really makes you just as bad as those who reflexively and blindly criticize whatever Obama does. Both groups are irrational in equal measure, whether that judgment yields praise or condemnation. Seriously, give it a rest, woman.

Where was I? Oh, Afghanistan. This is not a new war, nor a small one. Afghanistan is a warlord state with no history of or desire for a central government. Obama's plan is a disaster in search of a strategy. Hamid Karzai's so-called presidential authority pretty much comes to an abrupt halt at the city limits of Kabul. That's why he's largely considered "Mayor of Kabul" rather than "President of Afghanistan". He is so hated by the Pashtuns that he basically can't travel into his own countryside. His government is infamously incompetent, openly corrupt, criminally abusive, and thoroughly despised.

4. Yes, the media decided, didn't they, who's war is who's.
The fact that you repeat it, doesn't make my thread inaccurate,
it just means that you are one of the parrots.

As for what pains me,
it is posters who address me
as though they know what I think,
beyond what I say.

8. You have a right to your opinions about me no doubt.....
Edited on Thu Dec-03-09 06:52 PM by FrenchieCat
just like I have a right to my opinion about the media, Bush, Obama and the wars,
which is what this thread is about.

See how that's works.

You get all up in my nose personal,
while I stay on topic.

But I forgot, that makes you one of the "smart" ones!
