3. I completely understand. |

IMHO, it is such a waste, the lives lost over there. But I'm sure that your friend, like others with the courage to serve, is doing his job and doing it well. I sincerely hope that he comes home safe, too. :pals:

4. I'm glad you heard from Steve, I hope he makes it back in one piece, and very soon. |
|
But I guess if he's following his instincts, I don't know...
I just hope he and the rest of em get back here soon.
Glad to see you back...

8. Your friend Steve and my grandson Nicholas |
|
are the embodiment of many of the young men and woman who have enlisted. They are so young, naive, intelligent and kind-hearted. I get so angry and frustrated with those who post's attack these young people as nothing more than "drones," stupid for enlisting, or lacking any sympathy for the troops/wounded warriors, because it was their choice to "volunteer!"
We also attempted to dissuade my grandson from enlisting, but he is walking a path of his choice and not ours, therefore we can do nothing other than to support him and his fellow comrades. He knows that I his grandmother and aunts, walked many miles, spent many hours protesting these wars, and our opinions have not wavered. Nicholas has served 1-year in Iraq, and he has come home an older, wiser, and very depressed, angry young man....it breaks our hearts and knowing that he will soon be redeployed to Afghanistan doesn't help. Steve is fortunate to have you as a friend......You Care. I detest this war and am saddened that Obama decision to up the troops and I will continue to protest yet still support my grandson and his fellow comrades.
