The escalation and continued occupation is not the answer....
there is no fucking benefit to it, it is an utter waste of resources and lives! the war funds would more than pay for health care reform and much much more!!

WHAT THE FUCK is he thinking!!??

1. He did provide an exit plan,
which was more than what he was saying
throughout the campaign for those two years.

You can ask what he is thinking now,
but you actually knew, cause he told us many times.

but your words are profound,
and I'm can tell it is because it hurts,
because war is never good,
and it wasn't good for the entire 8 years that it has gone on....
I'm just glad that the neverending war on terror
went from eternity to 18 months with this decision.

That is something,
although not iwhat you wanted to see happen.
We cannot change instaneously,
no matter how hard we stir the ship,
not even in America!
For that, I'm sorry. :(

2. He is providing escalation action, which will lead to a day that an exit plan may not be feasible
Seriously, this exit plan propaganda has got to stop. We KNOW there will be an escalation. Depending on the political environment and the "conditions on the ground", we DO NOT KNOW there will be any sort of real exit in a few years.

As of today, its really a distraction. You need confirmation? Ask a deploying soldier.

3. We know there will be an escalation cause he told us
two fucking years ago, so ye-Ah.....no surprise there.

If you want to only believe half of what he said,
go ahead. I'm sure that helps the negativity
that you spout each and everyday about everything this man does.

Bush won, and you are one of the casualties.

As for deploying soldiers,
quit using them as your crutch.
I feel much for the civilians that may be killed on the ground,
but those soldiers aren't fetuses about to be aborted,
as they had a choice in the matter. We.have.been.at.war.for.eight.years.

I'm tired of the drama here on a war that was tolerated for 8 long ass years.
You want to believe the media.
You don't want to believe this President,
even when he told you straight up what he was going to do all along....
then fucking do it. just do it.

4. I don't care what who said when
Ill believe the escalation will happen when it happens (and orders have already been issued).

Ill believe the withdrawal will happen when I observe it happening. That day has not come yet. It may never come within any expected timeline

Its incredibly odd to see people cheering for the intangible while overlooking what is actually happening now.

Please, that was rather incoherent. You can do better.

5. That really is the point, isn't it? You don't really give a shit.
As for what is being cheered, you see what you want to see,
and it appears that you probably always will.
Go for it.....I've got at least 18 months.

7. "you see what you want to see"
Edited on Fri Dec-04-09 11:28 AM by Oregone
I see reality. In reality, there is an escalation.

In promise, which is not tangible, there might be a withdrawal, but nobody KNOWS that yet.

If you have point of contention with that line of thinking, there is something very wrong with you indeed

9. "Go for it.....I've got at least 18 months." The innocent Afghan citizens are less than impressed.

The PEOPLE of the two Muslim countries our troops OCCUPY don't appreciate their INNOCENTS being killed in the cross-fire of our enduring WARMONGERING.

Is it any wonder the people of the Middle East HATE the USA? It's not for our freedoms but because WE CONTINUE TO OCCUPY THEIR NATIONS.

Every day we OCCUPY those two countries Americans are LESS SAFE both at home and abroad.

President Obama and his MIGHTY Military Industrial Complex are making Americans LESS SAFE.

6. It's a stalling plan...
...that we hope will lead to the promised exit...or perhaps even to something like whatever "victory" is supposed to mean.

8. You've got me! We'll be there until we go broke and/or 50 years. It's a QUAGMIRE.
We need to just "declare victory" (after all al Qaeda = our original ENEMY - is all but nonexistent in Afghanistan) and get our troops OUT.
