GOP may miss chances in N.E.
WASHINGTON — New England Republicans this fall risk squandering their best opportunity in years to break the Democratic Party’s throttlehold on the region’s US House seats, a situation political specialists attribute to a shortage of GOP candidates with enough experience and credibility to mount serious challenges.

National polls are showing a rising tide of voter anger, and a fertile political environment for Republicans, who hope to win back a majority in the House this November.

But fewer than four months before the election, political analysts say the GOP is seriously challenging just three of 22 House districts in New England — New Hampshire’s two seats, and the open seat on Cape Cod being vacated by retiring US Representative William Delahunt.

The dearth of competitive House races in New England where Democrats currently hold every seat is partly a function of the region’s political leanings, but also a consequence of the Republican Party’s inability to consistently build a farm team of office holders at the city and state level, where tomorrow’s congres sional candidates are groomed.

1. Thatsashame
Relegated to the political trash heap, GOOPers in New England assume their place on the pile alongside Whigs, Know-Nothings & Dixiecrats. Good fucking riddance!

2. The Northeast is becoming to Republicans what Scotland is to the Tories in UK
Scotland completely shut them out. The Republicans are out of touch with the Northeast, so there's not a reason why they should be competitive.

4. As long as the pukes
continue to nominate and support idiotic assholes like Linda McMahon (Senate) and Tom Foley (Governor) of CT they won't ever break back into New England. Teabagging morons, although they do exist, are in pretty short supply.

Not that I'm complaining mind you I love to see them continue this line.

7. Aside from Scott Brown, the Rethug Party is all but dead in New England.

In CT, we will most likely keep all the Congressional seats (and my rep Chris Murphy in the 5th district is still quite popular ), keep the Senate seat Dem with Blumenthal and get a Dem Governor with Malloy or Lamont. The national Repubs don't like moderates in their party and you have to be Scott Brown or like the two women from Maine to win up in this region of the United States. This is all fine with me, I like CT getting more blue!

8. Good.
I'm in MA-1 and I'm seeing signs everywhere for the teabagger opponent to John Olver, Bill Gunn. I was heartened to see in the paper the other day that the guy has like 3K in his election coffers and Olver has over 300K.
