Murphy endorsing Onorato Saturday

A day after promising a “major endorsement,” Dan Onorato’s gubernatorial campaign pulled back the curtains on the special someone.

The campaign told reporters Friday that the Allegheny County Executive will be getting the backing of Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8), during an event at the Teamsters Local 107 Hall in North Philadelphia.

Murphy will be the first current member of Congress to formally endorse any Democrat in the party’s primary for governor, and it further underscores Onorato’s support within the party establishment. Murphy could also prove useful as a fundraising ally, with connections to national Democrats that go far beyond Pennsylvania’s borders.
