Blanche, voting for Demint's amendment to refer aid to states back to committee won't save you
Mary Landrieu was great speaking against Demint's call to send the bill back he the Finance Committee. She called it what it is--'nothing but a stunt.'

Now's he's got another amendment doing pretty much the same thing, this time couched in language to help 'small bidness'--and we know what kind of small bidnessmen R's want to protect. Senator Landrieu pointed out earlier that less than 2% of small businesses would be affected if President Obama's call to not extend tax breaks to those making $200K/$250 were enacted.

The first vote failed 42-58--with 60 votes being required to send this legislation back to the Finance Committee.

1. Neither will voting for Demint's second effort to derail this bill

Lincoln just voted with the Republicans on Demint's second amendment. Shameful, but sadly, it's where her heart is--with the top 2%.

3. Senate now voting on aid to the states, H.R. 1586.
If approved, the House will reconvene on Tuesday to pass this bill and get it to the president's desk.

4. Brown of Massachusetts, do you really want to vote 'no' on aid to the states?

Perhaps hooing your constituents won't notice?

At least, Blanche Lincoln has the sense to vote Yes on the final bill. As a Democrat, I would, of course, vote for Lincoln, but she is trailing badly to her Republican opponent in her very red state. Sadly, Bill Clinton cannot save her now.
