Shockingly blunt:

King, the Long Island congressman, said that in terms of social issues, the raging controversy over the Arizona border laws is providing more than enough ammunition for Republicans in key districts.

“The Arizona immigration law is there, there’s no reason to be raising an issue of gay rights” as a wedge, he said.

1. My guess is they will haul it out closeer to the election, if their "internal" polls look bad.
They can't possible talk about their Plan for Jobs and Fixing The Economy, because they don't have one.

Thanks for the article

2. The GoP have
definitely got the Southern Strategy in overdrive.

One thing I've noticed is usually a bigot isn't of one specific type, or that is when someone is a racist they are usually homophobic and sexist as well.

Rationally speaking, I don't know why anyone who isn't among the most wealthy 10% of the nation would want to return to Republican rule. All the can really rely on is the above sort of fear and bigotry. They do not stand up for poor and middle class people in any manner.

4. Yeah, I've noticed that there has been very little outrage from the GOP
over the Prop 8 ruling.

Gingrinch is pretty much the only one who's even said anything about it. All the anger is coming from the so-called "populist" groups.
