Poll question: How come those supporting Obama are called blind but critics are not called irrational
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 07:18 AM by wndycty
I support the President, but I don't feel he is above criticism, but unfortunately I feel that a lot of the rhetoric included in the criticism of him is irrational, such as there is no difference between him and Bush or calling him a corporatist. That being said why are Obama supporters called blind, but his critics are not called irrational

1. Because DUers are not much different than tea partiers in terms of rationale reasoning and civility

3. There are no blanket answers
There are over zealous supporters, blind to any short coming or failure. There are over zealous critics, blind to any accomplishment at all. There are supporters and critics who have different priorities and concerns and the nature and degree of their support, or criticism, will be a function of those priorities and concerns. And there are plenty who cannot see the others point of view, even while disagreeing.

The rules discourage blanket criticism, really from either side. And expression like "cheerleader" or "dead ender" don't really follow the rules, nor serve to understand the other point of view.

And to be quite honest, neither does repeated claims of "historic accomplishment" or "just like bush". They are hyperbole that apparently doesn't advance the discussion, nor promote understanding.

And neither does describing ones critics as "wanting to get rid of the DoD". But some folks aren't subject to the DU rules or moderators.
