AFSCME: Thank you, Dems
Via Greg Sargent:

* Thank you, Dems: AFSCME is going up with a six figure radio buy thanking dozens of House Dems for protecting jobs by passing $26 billion in state aid. The ad suggests Dems will use GOP opposition to the measure as a major weapon this fall.

A Tremendous Victory for Working People

Statement of AFSCME President Gerald W. McEntee on House passage of the Jobs Bill:

“America’s working people have won a tremendous victory in the United States Congress today – a victory that is going to save hundreds of thousands of jobs. The House of Representatives joined the Senate to pass a bill that will provide vital federal aid to state and local governments and school districts to help with budget shortfalls and save jobs.

“Everyone agrees that we aren’t creating jobs fast enough. The last thing we needed was even more layoffs. AFSCME led the fight to pass this bill to save thousands of jobs that were on the chopping block without adding a penny to the deficit.

“The American people will remember that Democrats stood up to save our struggling economy, while Republicans – with a few courageous exceptions – chose to play politics with our lives and jobs.”

the way. If GOP return the only way is down hyper fast. Sure Gibbs should do the right thing after his comments but even if he doesn't the future has to come before any of our egos. "The ego is intellectually and physically aggressive." Maybe gibbs can live with his ego, but we can't afford to be that destructive.

5. Very nice ad - worth clicking on to hear
It very clearly says what type of jobs were saved - police, firemen, teachers etc AND it clearly makes the point that IT DOES NOT ADD TO THE DEBT. The latter a RW talking point. It further says it is paid for by a tax on companies' overseas earning - so it goes against that unpopular loophole and brings up the issue of jobs sent over seas.
