2. Yep President Obama has to succeed.
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 10:04 AM by RandomThoughts
But that does not mean that a person has to agree with every thought or idea from the administration. Although there are many good things that occur that are commendable, and sometimes what some think of as not as good of ideas, are ok ideas also.

Although in a way that is the same form as some that try and make him fail, just opposite, but I think the reasons are different.

37. Why do people who are free to fling whatever crap they want
Edited on Thu Aug-12-10 08:38 AM by Solomon
start hollering about "so no dissent" as though somebody is stopping them from flinging their crap?

It's old and besides, it's just not true. You have an opinion, others have another. Nobody is stopping anybody from saying what they want.

Disagreement with an opinion does not equal stiffling dissent.

4. Under NO circumstances would I ever wish that!
EVER.

Yes, I have many differences with and druthers about Obama Administration policy. But there have been many improvements already and at least that trend continues - blocked as most things are by the Party of Perpetual No.
I have no doubt that if Gramps and Blah Blah had won that the US would be totally, completely and irreversibly belly-up right now, i.e., f***ed up in every possible way.
Plus, we would have had to endure Blah Blah's screechiness even more than we already do. It's unbearable as it is.

Absolutely. Sure I might find agreement but getting my ego stroked isn't worth more damage to the country.

than for this president whose accomplished a lot for us during the first term of his presidency. So, apparently, the OP hasn't benefited in any way from the legislation passed by the "current one".

9. "current occupant" indeed
We all know where *that's* coming from. Now why would the legally elected President be referred to as the "current occupant?" Hmmm.

I'm just surprised rsmith didn't refer to him as "boy."

24. Since there would be no electricity in the tarpaper shacks we'd all be living in
by now if McCain/Palin had won, you'd have to find some other way than the internet to bitch and moan.

...and McCain would have given you plenty more to bitch about than Obama ever could.

27. Current occupant?
Well that says a lot.

As for bitching and moaning, feel free. There are many people that still support the PRESIDENT and disagree with many things he's done/not done.

For instance KO was right when he said the Dems should have started with single payer and worked toward a public option. Too much was conceded from the start. That being said, the HC bill that was passed is imperfect, but it's a beginning. It's more than anyone else has done. There's no way in hell we would have gotten single payer.

My "thing" with people that post things like you, is if we're not bitching and moaning right along with you about EVERYTHING then we're somehow cheerleaders, or we've had too much kool-aid, etc.

People always think the grass is greener on the other side, until they get there and realize it's nothing but crab grass and dog shit.

So go on and jump into the "greener pastures" so you can bitch and moan, but don't forget to wipe your feet before you go back into the house.

32. MOST HERE MISSED THE POINT BY A MILE...
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 07:38 PM by rsmith6621

...The point wasn't that I truly wanted McCain/Palin elected.....but how it seems that if you don't support OBAMA like a cult member you are deemed out of touch....not welcomed here and in some cases subject to your thread being locked and possible tombstoning..

If we will allow open criticism on the opposing party then why can't we do the same for our own....

The first person who posted to this thread got it!!!!
