A reminder that the admin demanded Shirley Sherrod's immediate resignation over a Breitbart post
THIS is what gets to me. Breitbart or Drudge say boo and they snap to attention. Yet they sneer at liberal critics and the Left in general.

1. This is why I don't think Gibbs will be fired...
unless Glenn Beck demands it.

3. Doesn't Gibbs speak directly for the president and not just any part of the Obama admin? TIA

4. Gibbs attacked critics in an interview. Sherrod was mistakenly accussed of racially discriminating..
...against white farmers receiving government aid. Of course she didn't actually do that and we all know the story. But to compare the 2 incidents for any reason is a stretch of utter stupidity.

5. Bullshit. They had her pulled over to tender her resignation in her car!
Because they were peeing their pants over a fucking blog post by a known liar. It's utter stupidity on YOUR PART not to see the huge disparity in the respect and fear they have for the RW media vs. their disdain for the so-called Professional Left.

7. Thinking you have a racially charged damning situation on your hands...
Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 01:50 PM by phleshdef
...vs a guy answering questions about crazy critics that say crazy things aren't even related enough to warrant a discussion of the 2 together.

You attemped to make a point with this and it was a sad attempt.

9. You take TWO FUCKING MINUTES to investigate the claim.
Considering that FUCKING ANDREW BREITBART was making it, it wasn't too much to ask.

You can condescend to me and spin all you want but it doesn't change the fact that this admin disdains critics from the left while peeing its collective pants over what Breitbart or Drudge might say.

10. I never disputed that the Sharrod situation was handled poorly by Vilsack.
I'm disputing that it has shit all to do with Robert Gibbs addressing the crazier side of criticism coming from some on the left.

The Sharrod incident had nothing to do with what Breitbart or Drudge felt about anything. It had to do with the fact that Vilsack was fooled by the spin that was used to smear Sharrod and turn that part of her speech into something that it wasn't. In his mind, he thought he had an employee that was actually out there bragging about she discriminated against white people. In his mind, it was another Rev. Wright type controversy in the making. It didn't matter if it came from Breitbart. Breitbart would have ALSO pushed the controversy if Sharrod really had done what she was being accused of doing.

But go ahead and let your out of control emotions trump some actual, logical critical thought on the situation. Being angry seems to please you just fine.

11. "this admin disdains critics from the left ".
As well it should, and so do I. Your o.p. is a prime example of the over-the-top rhethoric that gets the left categorized with groups like the minutemen, and teabaggers, truthers, birthers, etc. And your Sherrod analogy needs quite a bit of work. Pretzel anyone? :eyes:

19. Disdain of Criticism is Bad Governance
There should be criticism from all perspectives and a rational analysis of it. That's how we improve, its called feedback and identifies areas for improvement.

12. And when they realized they were wrong they stepped up
and admitted they were wrong and apologized, yet Obama and his administration get absolutely no credit for that!

Apparently people who feel the need to keep harping on the Sherrod incident are perfect and have never made any mistakes in their lives.

strange that the Greatest Page is filled with posts slamming Democrats? What happened to the Repukes who were the real enemy?

20. I think this shows their true colors
Not really any more arguing about it.

They'd rather play to and with Republicans- indeed, in years past they would have been Republicans, as they share their core values and beliefs.

Being a Democrat was just more expedient once the lunatic right took over the party.

24. The "admin" did not fire Sherrod.
Isn't this the root of paranoid propaganda, make a claim that refers to a truth that was never actually a truth? Or something that is vaguely true... like Tom Vilsack is part of the administration.... therefore....

Like Tom Vilsack would have any say in Robert Gibbs fate. Please.
