right-wing media is avoiding the Gibbs kerfluffle
it's really striking, nearly all the commentary is coming from the left.

I was listening to the atrocious Hugh Hewitt, and it was clear that his callers wanted to talk about the Gibbs thing. Which makes sense, they don't like Obama so they don't like Gibbs and so they like when Gibbs is in some kind of controversy.

But it also makes perfect sense that Hewitt downplayed the story. Unlike his stupid listeners, he realizes that the story exposes Hewitt and the rest of the RW radio people as total obvious liars. They bray constantly about how Obama is a tool of the left. They steer clear of stories which expose this as a lie.

7. They'd have to admit that the Democratic establishment, and Obama in particular, are not "left".
Not gonna happen. They'll keep on either pretending it didn't happen, or manufacture a story that's the exact opposite of what happened.

8. We had trouble believing the right didn't think Bush was a conservative
They have the same cognitive problem when people on the left accuse Obama of not being liberal. In both cases, we see the worst aspects of the opposing politician as what we define the "other side" to be, regardless of the extent to which the pol is actually working for that side's goals or not.
