Bob Shrum on Gibb's 'professional left' comment: 'Tremendous disservice to President Obama'
Shrum also thinks that what Robert Gibbs said reflects thinking in the White House. Shrum further maintained that the White House needs to realize that 'progressives are their friends, not their enemies.' He suggested the White House needs to get Obama out campaigning like he did in Texas and 'engage the base.' He's right.

Shrum did not recommend Gibbs be fired, and that overall he has done a good job.

Bob Schrum just appeared on The Ed Show following Rep. Alan Grayson who repeated his earlier 'over the top' response.

5. It doesn't really require a response. Weiner said what Gibbs said was 'dopey.'
I agree with that, as well. It didn't make a whole lot of sense. I forget if it was Shrum or Bill Press who said Gibbs obviously needs to get away from Washington--perhaps go fishing. Press agreed what Gibbs said was dumb, as well--also agreeing that the base needs to be energized for the mid-terms and that we have pretty much accepted not getting all we wanted on health care, etc.

7. That makes no sense. Are you suggesting that the left isnt getting the WH
the resources they need? The WH turned their back on the left the minute Pres Obama was sworn in. Gibbs is repeating the harangue that the WH has been putting out for months, esp. thru Rahm-bo.

8. Shrum rolls over and plays dead on a regular basis.
He spends half his time agreeing with a GOP whack job, then puts forth a weak version of what "the left" wants to do, and then he usually reiterates where he agrees with the right.

I would prefer a Democratic strategist spend 95% of his TV time punching the GOP in the face, 5% claiming he hopes the Dems can "do more".

Even Shrummy gets it for pity sakes.
