As far as policy goes, do the Afghanistan war escalation supporters really think... |
|
That they have some sort effect on policy? Here is a little reality check for you: You don't. I've seen escalation supporters saying the "anti war far left" only comprises %30 of DU or %15 per cent of the Democratic Party. Where did you get these numbers? Thin air? Here is a little reality check for you: Shouting on the internet is just below standing out on a corner with anti-war signs in the hierarchy of policy influences. But then again, I guess the escalation supporter aren't trying to influence anything, they just sit back and shut up, they passively let things in life just happen to them. Tappity tap tap goes the keyboard...

1. If Obama reversed course tomorrow and began pullout, they would no longer be escalation supporters. |

You can't possibly imagine that some people think in principle that this is the correct move; you also can't imagine a principle and subsequent policy other than yours. It's a sad state of affairs. You're a fundamentalist.

It's just not a direct effect.

5. Yes but it sure seems like the effect is miniscule. |
|
However, with the country so evenly split on this one it's difficult to see any effect taking place.

Everybody wants to be the one whispering in Power's ear. It's not how this sort of shit works.
