I guess, looking back I always have. I was a mere child of 13 when I told my grandfather never to say n***** in front of me again. He never did. I hope he never used it again with anyone but he never, ever said it in front of me again. And that was no small thing since I was raised by my grandparents through my teen years so it isn't like he had to be on his best behavior only once in a while. And he was as southern white male as they came, but I often think he just never had anyone confront him on the behavior before me.
