Let's demand that Glenn Beck move his 8/28 rally because it's "insensitive" for a group of racists
to march at time and place a martyred African American leader gave the "I Have A Dream" speech.

I'm sure we can get plenty of bipartisan support for this cause, especially from the rabid right wing since they clearly believe that the right to free speech and assembly is trumped by the need not to offend anyone. And what difference does it make if all or even most of the members of the Tea Party are not racist. The fact that ANY of them are racist makes them all suspect doesn't it? After all, the fact that a tiny handful of Muslims are terrorists makes Islam a terrorist religion, right? The people who are pushing that claim would certainly want to be consistent and, thus, would apply the same logic to the Tea Party.

Yes, I know that normally any attempt to point out that something is offensive or insensitive to minorities results in cries of "political correctness!" and "get OVER it!" and, my personal favorite, "STOP PLAYING THE RACE CARD!!!" But in this instance, given the direct and unassailable parallels to the Islamic cultural center "controversy," I am certain that these folks would be more than willing to show some moral consistency, wouldn't they? In fact, unlike the cultural center, the march is taking place on PUBLIC property, so our case is even MORE compelling!

So let's get to it and make Beck move that march!

:sarcasm:

2. It would only work for Beck.
Beck has tapped into the fundamentalist thing and anyone trying to deny hem his free speech would be proof to his devotees that Beck was right...the government is out to get them and that they are the victums....and Beck will play it to the hilt.

The only way that Beck can be countered is if a crowd twice that number showed up in counter protest and the news showed it.

3. Beck will be there and gone
How long with the mosque be around? Your comparison fails on that ground alone.

4. It's a valid comparison
Sure, the cultural center is a permanent fixture, the idea of the OP shows how absurd the whole debacle is.
