1. Miami Herald: Obama shows Sink, Meek the love
August 18, 2010

Obama shows Sink, Meek the love

Addressing about 650 Democratic donors at the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach, President Barack Obama singled out the party's frontrunners for governor and U.S. Senate, Alex Sink and Kendrick Meek.

On Sink: "At a difficult time like this you need someone in Tallahassee like Alex,'' Obama said. "She combines the sensibility of a success businesswoman with the tenacity of a consumer watchdog. ...She's going to be the economic ambassador of this state...Alex knows what it takes to change business as usual in Tallahassee. She's not afraid to take on the status quo..."

On Meek: "Let me also say something about the next senator from the state of Florida. Kendrick Meek is a champion of middle-class familiies and someone who is not afraid to stand up to special interests."

Republicans--

Bush signs the Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2003

A study in contrasts...
