Oh, look what's going on very quietly in India
NEW DELHI: The Centre announced on Wednesday its intention to draw down a “significant number of battalions” from Jammu & Kashmir and reiterated its commitment to hold “quiet talks with all Kashmiri groups” far away from the media. Increasingly, the Central police forces were transferring the task of maintaining law and order to the J&K police, which reflected the changing atmosphere in the State.

For those who see things only through their "We are righteous and know everything" eyes: If this trend continues, it will lower the enormous tension between India and Pakistan, giving the Pakistani army the freedom to actually fight the Taliban.

Any connection to The State Dinner the Obama's threw the Indian? Na. Probably not...

3. That's always the case, now isn't it......?
but it would make the conditions better until then,
with that, perhaps you could ...at least maybe agree?

4. I hope there is a connection!
Pakistan and India's politicians need to do the brave political thing and accelerate this trend.
Nothing beats extremism like roads, water, hospitals and state schools.

6. This could help A LOT in getting Pakistan to stop worrying about India and focus on Swat and the
Afghanistan border.

More diplomatic progress missed by our clueless media.

15. State Dinner... visit to Asian nations... diplomatic initiatives... wonder if there's ANY link?
I certainly hope so, because they certainly could use some easing of tensions between Pakistan and India.

21. Doubt it was the dinner
Probably assurances by the US government before a dinner took place had more to do with it than a nice party.
