What happens when the Tea Partiers figure out they're being used? |
|
Teabaggers: Poor Republicans fighting for tax cuts for rich Republicans.
When it finally dawns on them that they will get nothing for their loyalty & be discarded as soon as they're no longer useful, what will happen then?

Their preferred self-delusion and addiction to alternate reality is much much stronger than the lighbulb that any facts could provide.

for nothing, just like the run of the mill repuke. They too will do things that are counter-productive to their own success and comfort just to punish other folks. It's human nature, I guess.

As long as minorities don't get anything, they're happy. Even if that means that they will have to live in a homeless shelter.

9. Never ... not so long as the GOP tells them they are the "Best Americans" ever ... |
|
That's basically all it takes.
Just tell these dopes that they are the best kind of Christians. Just tell these dopes that they are the the most patriotic Americans. Just tell these dopes that they are the the most responsible Americans. Just tell these dopes that they are the "real America".
And then, tell these dopes that all of their problems are not their own fault, but are instead caused by a number of very scary and dangerous "others" (gays, Mexicans, Muslims, blacks).
They eat it up.

The next step will be to consult a proctology team to extract their heads from their butts.

12. I think the Stokholm syndrome |

has already kicked in. They will protect that party philosophy with everything they have...rather than admit a mistake.
From wikipedia: Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.

17. They don't give a shit. If they don't realized that they've been had by Failin' |
|
and the rest, then they simply don't care. My understanding is that there is a fissure in the teabag party anyway. The "movement" iteself is divided between the Teabag Republicans and the true-blue Teabaggers who honestly don't want to be associated with the Republican Party. Sadly the latter group is few in number. The teabag "movement" has always been a Republican movement regardless of the anti-politician, anti-corporate bailout rhetoric. They know damn well that they are championing the desires of Wall Street, but it's not just about that. In my view, the teabaggers are bunch of racists. Period. And the few blacks who have joined the ranks are being used as puppets to deflect charges of racism. It's a modern day KKK.

They're too busy being angry and insane over a black president that's spending all of his effort being a foreign-born muslim, providing extra help to black people, and opening the southern border to immigration--:sarcasm:

23. Now that all the anti-gay gays are abandoning that argument |
|
how long will it be until the pee-pants partiers are passé? Once the goopers have gotten not-much-of-anywhere demonizing blacks, muslims, mexicans, etc ad nauseam, what other shell game will they pull?
With goopers, it's always a frickin' gimmick. Never any substance; always just some gimmick to rob the rubes blind and they eat it up. PT Barnum was right.

24. Looking 'right' is more important than actually being 'right' |
|
and I can't tell you if I really mean right to be "correct" or "conservative"
But I can tell you this, that even if it dawns on them that they have been duped, they will work all the harder to try and justify their stance. For conservative the image is of utmost importance, substance is immaterial. The Tea baggers will always attempt to give the appearance that all is as is should be.
A realization of being duped will only make them dig in their heels even further.
