Oprah: Expect Obama On Farewell Season
In an interview with TV Guide, Oprah Winfrey discussed her upcoming 25th and final season of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," saying she expects something from President Obama for the final season...

Ugh. A sitting President on The View and now Oprah. What's next? Jersey Shore?

Why is this administration playing into the GOP's Obama celebrity meme? Leave this sort of thing to the quitter grifter and Tom Cruise.

1. I'm uncomfortable with Obama appearing on these kind of shows
as well. Maybe I am forever "old fashioned.."

2. If he can make a reach out
to the American white woman voter who may be under the spell of her teabagger (watch Fox all the time) husband, then I say go for it. Obama will need everything to put him over the top in 2012, and this kind of show that attracts a large female audience counts can go a long way in getting there.

3. He can't base every decision on what the GOP thinks
They are going to complain about everything he does anyway, so it's not like it matters. I don't see what's wrong with him being on the show.

18. Seinfeld.
They're going to use special effects to insert him into the final episode and make it funny.

8. Oprah is fantastic
she rescued her show from going down into the depths of the midday talk show sesspool in the early 90's and she has continued to add quality to her show since.

10. Oprah is the same as the Jersey Shore? I always thought of Oprah as having
discussions on the topics of the day that were important to women. Jersey Shore is a show about a bunch of over-tanned drunk Jersey kids. Eh, maybe it is a generational thing. I remember watching Bill Clinton when I was 15 on Arsenio Hall playing the saxophone. I never really thought Presidents had to be that formal.

12. Bill Clinton wasn't President when he was on Arsenio. Bush started this low brow stuff...
Didn't help him much.

13. So Obama should only appear on the "news"?
I would say that is lower brow then anything Oprah puts out these days. Ever watch more then a hour of it?

16. She "expects something from President Obama"?!?!
Expects?

Look, one can debate the wisdom of President Obama appearing on daytime TV. But to have Oprah say she "expects" our President to do something for her and appear on her final season -- that's just beyond the pale.

What does she "expect?" That he shows up on her final show with a bouquet of flowers and a Presidential Medal of Freedom for her?

"I am Oprah, the All-Powerful! Bow down and do my bidding, puny man!"

21. Because far more people watch Oprah than Olbermann or Maddow.
DUers assume everybody in the country is glued to cable news 24/7.

24. Who cares
what the GOP thinks, is this what our party has become, so concerned about what the teabaggers think of us? The right is going to hate and bash Obama no matter what he does, I see nothing wrong with him appearing on her show.
