3 Senate Races I think Dems should go all out to win |
|
with $$ and GOTV:
1) Alaska--this turmoil in Alaska is a gift, I believe. McAdams the Democratic nominee for Senate has his nomination while the GOP are trying to figure out who they will run against him. McAdams has a compelling real-life Alaskan story to tell, unlike his opponent. This could be one of those sleeper elections that nobody expected to change hands but did.
2) North Carolina--Burr is one of the most unpoopular incumbants around and his poll numbers have not been good. Elaine Marshall is a good candidate and if her message gets out she can pull this one out.
3) Kentucky--Rand Paul is a NUT--period. His opponent Jack Conway is much more personable (and for those who care--better looking) and makes a good impression. Paul would be the ultimate tea-party victory if he did win. Lots of undecideds in this race, and Conway is making progress.
If Dems win 1 of these 3 states they will keep the senate, imo, if they win 2-3 of these states it won't be as bad a night as the "pundits" predict.

1. More importantly, end the baggers |
|
Nothing ends a "movement" like losing elections. Watching a bunch of "safe" seats go down because of bagger nuts will get them marginalized faster than anything.

3. I would hope so. PPP will have a new poll on the race out next week |
|
I'll be interested to see what it shows.

We don't need Angle in there any more than Rand Paul, or the Alaska Tea Party whackadoo.

5. Only reason I didn't mention Nevada is I think Harry Reid knows what he's doing down there |
|
he may not be the best majority leader but he does know how to run against a tea-partying nut. I wish Feingold would take lessons. But I agree we must win Nevada.

I see what you mean. A push that is probably going to have to come from outside the area as well as inside. Yes, I agree with that. Those are 3 areas that could use a little extra and that we do have a great chance of winning.

6. Alaska Possibly Being In Play Just Goes To Show |
|
You just never know what's going to happen. This is shaping up to be one crazy Nov.
I think a lot of people are underestimating the impact of all the loony tea bagger candidates.

9. If we move AK, KY AND NC |
|
Then the momentum will sweep up those 4 which ought to go Dem anyway. We need to stop with the firewall tactics. Make them defend.

Boxer's just getting started on Fiorina, and already leads by 3 points, per the most recent Field poll. Once she starts getting Fiorina's own words out, Carly's finished. Very simple - when the attack ads showing Fiorina saying "There is no job that is Americans' God-given right anymore" start airing, watch the air go out of Fiorina's campaign...

Ken Buck is a raving lunatic, who by all rights should be laughed out of the public arena entirely. Bennet's only slightly behind, so I think this race is very winnable.

Give the GOP (and the media) something to think about at Thanksgiving.

I think Angle is so horrible as a candidate, Reid will pull it out ...
Live in Pa, Toomey is a winger of the highest order, Sestak is a GOOD man ...
He is going make a strong push here - the Rs have the enthusiasm, but the last three major state races, Rendell over Swann, Casey over Santorum and BO over McCain went by big margins to the Ds ...
Sorry, only way Alaska is in play is if Murkowski gets on the ticket as a third party somehow ...

15. Yes. These are 3 Republican seats we can flip to the Democrats. |
|
There are more that are winnable. OH, MO, and LA all have the potential to tighten up and be Democratic takeovers of Republican states.
Gaining seats in the Senate is a realistic goal.
