2. I think it has been since Reagan, and got worse with the "New Democrats" and Clinton.
I think Obama's moderate/conservative policies are in line with the moderate policies of old line Republicans more so than traditional Democrats. Obama's close circle seems to be totally against the Democratic left based on their own comments and policies, and it becomes more clear every day that we have no influence at all with the President or anyone in "our" government.

I have been voting Democratic since 1968, and have been to the left of every major candidate in National politics, but I have not felt the lack of identification with the Democratic party that I do now. It is bad and it is getting worse.

I know there are many here who love Obama...I think he is a remarkably intelligent and capable man, and I am still amazed he was elected President in this country, but he is not the liberal he was supposed to be. I will certainly not vote for any republican ever, but I am not happy about having to vote for these Democrats, who don't strike me as Democrats at all.
Joe Biden is probably the only liberal there, and he is just the water boy.
