Murkowski: “Mr. Miller owes all Alaskans, women and my family an apology.”

Senator Murkowski’s Statement on Joe Miller’s TweetAnchorage, AK- Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) today demanded an apology from Joe Miller for attacking her character and comparing her to a prostitute on Twitter.

“Alaskans deserve better. This type of statement is inexcusable from someone who wants to represent our state,” Senator Murkowski said. “While I have been focused on the remaining ballots, the Miller campaign has launched yet another smear campaign against me. They lied about my record during the primary and now they have resorted to name-calling–it’s disgusting.”

“Alaskan values have never included a complete disregard for the truth or a lack of common decency,” Murkowski said. “Mr. Miller owes all Alaskans, women and my family an apology.”

1.  “Alaskan values have never included a complete disregard for the truth or a lack of common decency,
from an Alaska republican ...(or a republican from anywhere for that matter)

3. Miller is backtracking now
and saying he was speaking of the Alaska Libertarian Party, not Lisa. Apparently there are discussions going on between the ALP and Lisa's people as to whether she will run on the Libertarian ticket if Miller holds his lead. I personally think she should go for it. Split the Alaska Republican Party right down the middle, and Democrat Scott McAdams cruises to a win.

7. I've been wondering the same thing.
I haven't heard from my sister, about if Tony Knowles might fit into the mix. When I saw her last month, she commented that Tony Knowles was pretty much out of politics these days. Should be interesting.

Thanks for keeping thing interesting up there!!

10. I think it would be HUGE mistake
to bring Tony out of the mothballs. Scott McAdams has some momentum going for him now in the face of all the disarray on the Republican side, and I personally think it would be wonderful to have a senator from one of the smaller (but quite progressive) towns in Alaska, not the usual Anchorage/Fairbanks/Juneau crowd. It's a good way to get the rural folks here involved and excited because there's always been a lot of tension between the Railbelt and the Bush here.

As far as I've heard, the state Dem party is not looking to "backdoor" McAdams.

5. I love watching politicians
try to backtrack on statements that are very clear. He called her a prostitute, that is what he did, there is no way to misinterpret that tweet. No one is ever held responsible for the shit they say anymore, all you have to do is say that's not what you meant and suddenly everything is cool.

8. Ah, the teaparty vs establishment Repubs. The Repub party made this monster
or at least let it fester. This is the result.

11. Murkowski would not come off well in the comparison.
