Glenn Beck to Chris Wallace: 'I Have No Desire to be President of the United States'
Following his rally yesterday which was attended by upwards of 300,000 people, Glenn Beck went on "FOX News Sunday" with Chris Wallace. Wallace asked if that kind of massive turnout could translate into a political following leading to the White House:

Wallace: I got to tell you, the blog traffic right now is a Beck-Palin national ticket in 2012.

Beck: Not a chance. I don't know what Sarah is doing. I hope to be on vacation. I have no desire to be president of the united states. Zero desire. I don't think that I would be electable. And there are far too many people that are far smarter than me to be president. I'd like to find one with some honor and integrity. I haven't seen them yet. They'll show up.

Wallace: But when you've got hundreds of thousands of people showing up to see you, Glenn, that's something. I mean that is, that's worth something. I don't mean personally to you. But that's people putting their trust in you.

Beck: Well, I mean, if that's the case, we should either elect Billy Graham or Paul McCartney.

BTW try <100,000 crowd. That would certainly be Democrats dream ticket and make the US a laughingstock of the world.

1. Beck - Palin would even be better than Gingrich - Palin (or vice versa)
Here's hoping...

6. Beck-Palin-Diebold. Sounds like a winning combination to me.
Excuse me. Gotta go now. I'm setting up housekeeping under my bed.

3. I liked this part
"And there are far too many people that are far smarter than me to be president. I'd like to find one with some honor and integrity. I haven't seen them yet. They'll show up." Bet that kind of ticks of Palin and the rest of the group thinking about running!

Reports I hear it was only around 85,000, and many of them were bussed in from the two other events held in D.C. this weekend. The problem is Palin, if she does run and I really don't think she will, is not going to be second banana again. If she did run it would be for the president, not the V.P. and same with Beck, no second Banana for him. Beck "would" be the democrats dream with all the things he has said in the past "on tape", they could win hands down. Beck may have a following of the real crazy side of the right wing, but they are a minority and would never be able to get him elected. Anyone with a brain would not vote for him, republican, democrat, independent, or whatever they claim to be, he is unelectable, period!

Now I think he wants to start a religious following myself. Pull people from their current churches and gather his own cult following. He has a god complex, and an ego that has no bounds. He loves to have people adore him, and being a "religious" leader would suit him better than president, he could "fleece" the sheep for millions and millions of dollars to support a lavish life style!

4. Kind of a cross between a snake oil salesman and evangelist?
Or are they one and the same?

I hope he eats up millions of dollars that would normally go to the GOP. He's a joke and the GOP knows it.

20. So if he implies that Sarah doesn't have honor and integrity
why did he book her for an event that was about restoring just those very things into government?

Answer: Because Beck probably doesn't personally believe 1/3 of the things he utters. I keep expecting him to take off at some point like the leader of the Movementarians (Simpsons) in a fake spaceship with all the money he suckered from his audience.

5. Wow. Even media bistro lies outright- seemingly with impunity
That doesn't bode well for the future of journalism in United States.

Or the future of the US for that matter.

15. If he is going to be the Messiah...
Edited on Sun Aug-29-10 06:19 PM by LiberalFighter
He is 13 years too late and we don't do crucifixions in the USA.

But if he wants to prove he is the Messiah he needs to be crucified and come back to life.

I didn't realize it but Beck is on his 2nd marriage. Right there he would be disqualified from being the Messiah as he divorced his first wife.

9. I know exactly why Beck does not want to be the president
That would be a huge pay cut for him. Same reason Sarah quit
as governor. Too much money to be made on the outside and
these people crave money.

For Sarah, Beck, Newt, and others there's gold in pandering to ignorant bigots.

Karl Rove used it to predict republican victory in 2006, didn't he?

11. hell, he'd have to take a HUGE pay cut --- he and Palin both.
plus, they both survive on the masses' adulation of them, they won't get that as P/VP.

this is being touted.

Between these two narcissists, it would be a battle over who would take top billing.

Edited for additional word.

19. In addition to the pay cut
the hours suck and he'd actually have to work and be factually correct. That's not a good job change for someone that is a well-paid liar and prevaricator.

Everybody who runs for President, often says, at some point very early on, that he/she won't run.
