2. This is pretty clearly about Alan Simpson
Who made some pretty intemperate remarks about the American public last week. Perhaps you were on vacation.

Unless I'm totally wrong, and this is about nuclear waste and Homer Simpson...

3. Technically he has only Fired Progressives -- Never, ever Rights...They get Promoted.
Edited on Mon Aug-30-10 09:23 PM by denimgirly
And this includes the progressive woman that got fired from the Agriculture mess too when the WH freaked and demanded she get fired because she was going to anger Glen Beck. wtf?!?

Obama is clearly a center-right President and views the left as people who will have no choice to vote for their party regardless so in the words of Rahm..."sit down and shut the f--k up".

5. He won't fire Simpson because MSM didn't take it up. Only Blogs...which aren't important
because they are the LW Blogs that Rahm called "Fucking Retards."

So, without an advocate to force Simpson to do a PUBLIC Apology like many of our Congress and Senate Dems have had to do for speaking the "truth" about Repugs and other public or administration officials forced to resign...Mr. Simpson gets to stay and makes those who called out his sexist, ageist diatribes look like "they" are the fringies and not Simpson.

He's doing the job Obama wants done.
What we think makes no difference.

15. God, but it would be nice to think he wasn't driving.
It would be nice to think that he was forced or fooled into picking the dolts that he has for advisors. Nice to think that giving bushco a free pass legally for screwing the country wasn't his idea. Nice to think that ripping up unions, privatizing education, and implementing ronald reagan's plan for American schools was something he didn't know was happening. Nice to think that had had no part in giving billions to billionaires while common people can't get jobs. Nice to think that it was someone else who decided for him to keep sending billions and billions of dollars to a war in Iraq while expanding the war in Afghanistan to kill more soldiers and civilians.

It would be nice to think he wasn't driving. Because if he is driving, he is piss poor at it.

(PS. But he sure looks dreamy in a swim suit.)

12. It's sad to say but if you're a low ranking black bureaucrat in the administration you're more
likely to get a pink slip for running afoul of faux news than if you're a conservative repub who runs afoul of women or any other core group of the democratic party. Somebody needs to give the administration a lesson in partisanship because I don't think they get the fact that they're supposed to be a democratic administration.

17. The whole point of having a bipartisan commission is having assholes like Simpson on it.
Secondly, this commission has exactly zero authority. It's a dog and pony show.

Thirdly, they aren't getting paid. At all.

Fourthly, chill the fuck out.

18. Zero authority, true...
...although their recommendations are due to come out in time for a lame duck session of Congress to vote on them. And the House, at least, is already set to take an up or down vote without any changes to the proposals. So that seems to me like power, even if we don't know right now how the votes will break down.

You should read this:

http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/08/meet-the-16-men-and-two-women-who-could-determine-the-fate-of-social-security.php?ref=fpblt

Talking Points Memo's rundown of the 18 commission members.

I don't think we should chill out on this. Of course the structural problems go far beyond Social Security and are tied to the costs of empire. But still, this commission is horribly right wing and it is startling to see its makeup, knowing we elected a Democratic administration and Congress.
