Feingold decries 'systematic' effort to 'destroy' Obama
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/116713-feingold-decries-systematic-effort-to-destroy-obama

"A conscious decision was made by certain groups to destroy this presidency the minute it started," Feingold said in a question-and-answer session with The New York Times published Tuesday evening.

"People say it was the healthcare bill — no, it wasn’t. I go to every county every year and hold a town meeting," he added. "Within days of the president being sworn in, I had people showing up at my town meeting with hats on, with tea bags coming out, saying this is going to be socialism."

5. Feingold's worried about his seat.
Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 11:19 AM by chill_wind
Feingold is among a handful of Senate Democrats facing a steeper-than-expected uphill climb to reelection this fall. The Wisconsin Democrat had been seen as a relatively secure incumbent during the early parts of the 2010 cycle, but recent polling shows GOP challenger Ron Johnson within striking distance of knocking off Feingold this fall.

The three-term senator acknowledged that if even he is in danger in the reliably Democratic state of Wisconsin, then Democrats might be heading for even bigger trouble this fall.

"Clearly, if somehow I lost, it would be a sign that we’re getting close to the line. We won’t lose, but it is something that is legitimate for me to mention — this seat could determine things," he said in reference to the balance of power in the Senate.

If Republicans win 10 seats, they will retake the majority in the upper chamber.

18. Feingold has always been expected to lose - in 1992, 1998 and 2004.
He won every time. In 2004 it wasn't even close - he even outperformed Kerry, despite the MSM pronouncing him dead after voting against the PATRIOT Act. And 2004 was a year where Senate Democrats didn't do very well.

I highly doubt Feingold will lose. It might be close, but a win is a win.

7. you don't understand what Russ is talking about
he's talking about something he's actually seeing, an actual fake grassroots effort that's taking place. He's not cheerleading for Obama, he's talking about something that's going on.

9. Good to see that Feingold is awake at the wheel.......
I remember how most Democrats fought the GOP when they attacked Clinton.
Seems like in this case, instead of fighting the GOP, many Democrats
have decided to pile-on on Obama instead. Wonder why?

11. I decry it as well
Republicons have descended into unbridled Naziism. They are fascists and if we don't vigorously oppose them with our gotv effort and contributions to assist in that effort, our country will descend into depths as yet unplumbed.
