3 Senators denied renomination--2 republicans and 1 republican turned dem |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 12:11 PM by WI_DEM
Murkowski (Alaska) Bennett (Utah) Specter (PA)
And what hurt Specter the most was that 2-years ago he had campaigned as a GOPer for McCain/Palin and the videotape of that was a potent ad for Sestak.
1 more is being targeted--Castle in DE--a Republican.

Or was that for a different office?

3. Sharon Angle (TeaBagger) defeated the more moderate Repuke candidate... |
|
(unless I'm remembering that backward). OH, and Rand Paul (R-Bat shit) defeated the more "establishment" Repuke in Kentucky. So, that is 3 seats (by my count) where we suddenly have a much more competitive race than we'd anticipated (in our favor). The only one that's throwing me is Toomey running away in PA. I think we have a much better shot in November than the media is portraying (especially since the Dem's really haven't started spending money yet toward the general).

9. Yeah, I think I got confused for a moment. |
|
I remember there was an incumbent that was tossed on his ear at his party's state convention. For some reason my brain kept insisting that happened in Nevada. I guess it was actually Bennett?

7. He is running for Biden's open seat |
|
Delaware is an unusual place, because we only have one house member and two senators. Castle was also governor, and longstanding house member, so functionally he is "the incumbent".
It was going to be a boring race until our perennial right wing flake made the primary race interesting.
