Poll question: Are you hoping for an Obama/Palin matchup in 2012? |
|
Assuming that Palin is the nominee for the GOP, and not some newfangled "Tea Party."

1. No... but not because of her so-called popularity. |
|
I'm not losing a wink of sleep over Palin ever becoming President. I just don't want to hear about her for the year or so it take to run for President. I'm sick to death of her and her family and her fans.

That would be fantastic.
Go third party, RW Republicans. Your party no longer represents you.

on the off chance that Obama is so hated by 2012, it would be nice if the republicans would come to reality and offer a candidate whose mission is not to destroy America.

Does your frame of reference extend beyond the last story you read about one of her book signings? She adds nothing to the base and her unfavorables are routinely higher than her favorables. Don't underestimate her? Try not overestimating her.

16. Palin is a fucking idiot. So were Reagan and Chimpy |
|
Reagan was actually elected. Twice. And with Electro-fraud machines, even that is no longer necessary. Not to mention a corporate media that may be getting even worse if Comca$t succeeds in silencing the three hours a day of "sane" news coverage that we currently have.
The only reason Obama won in 2008 is because massive turnout was enough to override the electronic fraud. Between the Afghanistan escalation, the bait and switch on health care reform, and the Geithner/Summers disaster, if the next election was held today, I wouldn't feel very good about his chances. It would take a complete reversal of all three and probably a few more miracles to duplicate the type of turnout he got last year. He's got three years to make it happen, but it's not looking great at the moment.

20. I don't discount the possibility that she could win, |
|
but I think:
A. Her odds of winning are lower than that of almost every other Republican, and B. The damage she would cause as President is not significantly greater than that of any other Republican.

22. No, for the following reason: |
|
We do not know what the world will be like in 2012.
A world where Palin gets the nomination is a world more favorable to Palin than the world today.
Hence Palin's chance of becoming President (an outcome to be avoided at all costs) is much higher in a political climate where she could get the nomination in the first place.
So if a genie asked me if I wanted Palin to be the 2012 nominee I would have to say no. The wish has "ironic horror comic-book ending" written all over it.

24. Mark my words, that matchup wil NEVER happen. |
|
For one simple reason.
A Presidential campaign is grueling work.
Palin will not even make it through the GOP primaries.
She is(was) the laziest politician in the country.
She couldn't even handle the workload of being Governor of Alaska.

Never underestimate fanaticism.
I still remember the headline in the British tabloids when Bush was re-elected, "How can 59,054,087 people be so dumb?"
Although I think the GOP primaries would be very amusing.

All the governors running would tag her as a quitter AND she has taken shots at the GOP leadership.
Look for her to get a talk show that fails and/or her continued speaking circuit for the GOP Zombie wing.
