(R)asmussen AK-SEN POLL: Miller 50, McAdams 44
A new snapshot of the Senate race in Alaska, taken in the hours after Sen. Lisa Murkowski conceded the GOP nomination, shows Joe Miller running six points ahead of his Democratic rival, Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams.

The Rasmussen survey of likely voters shows Miller, a lawyer who is backed by Sarah Palin, with 50% of the vote and McAdams with 44%. The poll has a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points.

Rasmussen said that based on the latest numbers, it changed the race’s rating from “Solid Republican” to “Leans Republican.”

McAdams has firmer support among Democrats (90%) than Miller has among Republicans (79%). Among independents, McAdams holds a 22-point lead.

1. I heard today that McAdams is running neck and neck w/ Miller
and that Murkowski was the one could beat him, but now she's out and McAdams was to make it very competitive. (I wish I could source this but can't remember what morning show it was on)

2. Striking distance.. for sure.. especially considering this is a Rasmistaken poll.
McAdams should make this a referendum on Palin.

3. McAdams will do better to cast Miller as the outsider
McAdams is a well-liked mayor with deep roots in Alaska. Miller is a transplant with little knowledge of issues near and dear to Alaskans.

5. I wonder if Lisa will endorse Miller or not?
She could also follow the Alaska "sore loser" tradition(embodied by Wally Hickel's non-party gubenatorial campaigns in 1978 and 1990) and run as an independent or write-in candidate in the fall.

6. So far she's utterly refused to do so (at least so I heard on Hartmann's show today). :)

That is, refused to endorse Miller (R-Batshit). (edited to clarify)
